If there's something we know for sure when it comes to the Kardashian-Jenner clan — besides the fact that they know how to make a buck – it's that they love a good surprise. While the rest of the beauty industry has been releasing Black Friday sales for best-selling products that are already on the market, Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian West announced that they're releasing an entirely new collaboration for the biggest shopping day of the year.
The sisters took to Instagram to share the news that KKW X KYLIE 2 is coming to kyliecosmetics.com for Black Friday. The photo posted to Instagram has the sisters twinning with dark bobs and nude bodysuits, which is very similar to the campaign photos for their first collaboration in 2017 (back then it was nude bandeau tops and longer strands).
Jenner teased this collaboration back in July when she shared a throwback post of her and Kim on set. "Who wants KKW X KYLIE round 2?," she asked her followers. And a few months later, more behind-the-scenes photos began circulating the Internet of the siblings shooting together, cementing the fact that they had something in the works. The question was just when and what?
Now, we know when. But we still don't know what the two have coming out just yet. Based off the photos, the nude theme is probably here to stay. Maybe it will be a wider selection of nude lip shades to add on to what they released in their first collaboration, or a neutral eyeshadow palette, or a double-duty highlighter and contour stick?
Regardless of what products are coming, this collection won't be the only thing coming from KKW that day. The reality star is also set to release a beauty kit for the holidays on November 23 called the Glam Bible, which includes a six-pan eyeshadow palette, eyeliner, a set of lashes, mascara, lip liner, two lipsticks, a gloss, blush, and highlighter for $150. The brand will also drop new accessories on the same day, with blending sponges, a pencil sharpener, a powder puff, and a makeup tote joining the enormous KKW lineup.
Kylie also has new makeup releases in the works, with a new holiday collection dropping November 19. All the products are glow themed and snowflake-covered, from the 14-pan eyeshadow palette to the 8-piece collection of mini lip colors.
But, before you drop all your coins on these holiday releases for the beauty obsessives on your shopping list, you'll want to wait to see what the two have in store for the newest KKW X KYLIE collaboration (which we'll be sure to keep you updated on). Looking back to their first collaboration, it'll most likely be a sell-out hit.

When reports surfaced that Beyoncé planned to buy back Ivy Park from disgraced Topshop mogul Philip Green on Thursday, it fell on keen ears. Beyoncé-related news (about music, babies, and more) tends to permeate the web instantly, so why wouldn't apparel-business rumors spread just as fast? Fans were grateful the Lemonade creator was making the right decision to disassociate herself with Green following the allegations of sexual harassment brought against him last month, which was revealed via British Parliament.
But wait — is this actually happening?
Though several media outlets report that Beyoncé is divesting from Green and taking 100% of Ivy Park with her, the news has yet to be officially confirmed. Teen Vogue, for example, cites a tweet — from an unofficial "Beyoncé Collection" account — that reads "Beyoncé has ended her joint venture with Sir Philip Green after allegations of racial abuse and sexual harassment, buying his 50% stake in Ivy Park. Parkwood Entertainment now owns the brand in full." The tweet was published from an iPhone.
WWD attributed a similar quote, which includes a claim that Topshop Arcadia [Group] will fulfill existing orders, to Green's camp, though several other sources, like the Financial Times, The Guardian, Elle, and Reuters attribute it to Ivy Park. So, who said what? As of now, we've reached out to Ivy Park's press team, who were unable to provide comment and forwarded our request on to Beyoncé's camp. Additionally, we've reached out to Topshop to confirm or deny what is, for now, a rumor, and they have yet to return our inquiry.
Beyoncé has ended her joint venture with Sir Philip Green after allegations of racial abuse and sexual harassment, buying his 50% stake in Ivy Park.
This isn't the first time Ivy Park has been the subject of headlines, however – and we're not referring to its radically inclusive campaigns or its impeccable standard of athleisure goodness. In 2016, the label faced claims brought forth by British tabloid The Sun that the athletic-wear line was produced in sweatshops where workers were unprotected and underpaid. Reps for Ivy Park swiftly refuted the claims, though provided no evidence to support their opposition. At the time, Green was under investigation in related to the collapse of his BHS retail chain.
Though we hope the latest rumors are true — and we have faith that Beyoncé will do what is right for her, her business, her customers, her fans and, well, the world — we'll keep you posted if and when we hear back from anyone to confirm the news.

The Republican-controlled Ohio House of Representatives voted 58-35 to pass a six-week abortion ban, also known as a "heartbeat bill," on Thursday. If the legislation becomes law, it would effectively make abortion illegal in the state. It would also be the second time this year a state enacts the most restrictive abortion ban in the nation.
The bill looks to criminalize abortion providers who offer the procedure after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which often happens around six weeks of gestation. At that stage, most women don't even know they're pregnant. If a woman has an abortion after that point, her physician would be charged with a fifth-degree felony punishable by up to one year in prison.
The legislation makes exceptions if the woman's health is at risk and if a medical emergency prevents physicians from detecting the fetal heartbeat. However, the bill contains no exceptions for cases of rape or incest.
The bill now goes to the Ohio Senate. It was also passed by lawmakers in 2016, but Republican Gov. John Kasich vetoed it then, arguing the bill was "clearly contrary to the Supreme Court of the United States’ current rulings on abortion." (Instead, he signed a 20-week abortion ban.) If the new heartbeat bill makes it to his desk before he leaves office, Kasich has said he would veto it again. But Republican Governor-elect Mike DeWine has promised to sign the bill after he is sworn-in in January. The Ohio Legislature could also have enough votes to override Kasich's veto if the bill passes before DeWine comes into office. State Rep. Christina Hagan, one of the authors of the legislation, said the Legislature plans to do this. "The point is: it’s time," she said. "It doesn’t matter if the governor is with us or against us."
Thursday's vote caused outrage among reproductive health advocates. "Anti-abortion ideologues should not attempt to insert politics between a patient and their physician. What we’re seeing is state legislators, John Kasich, and Mike DeWine playing politics with women’s lives," NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio Executive Director Kellie Copeland said in a statement provided to Refinery29. "This abortion ban would block patients from the care they need and deserve. If enacted, this legislation would worsen the reproductive health care crisis in our state. The decision to have an abortion is not a political decision."
If the bill becomes law, we can expect it to be challenged in court since pro-choice advocates say six-weeks bans are unconstitutional. This is because of the U.S. Supreme Court 's 1992 decision on Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which upheld a woman's right to choose an abortion before viability. (Research says a fetus is not considered viable before 20 weeks of pregnancy.) Ever since that ruling, courts have said banning abortions before the 20-week mark is unconstitutional.
But the possibility of a legal challenge is exactly the reason why anti-abortion lawmakers are pushing these bills, said Elizabeth Nash, senior state issues manager at the Guttmacher Institute. "Assuming that [Ohio's six-week abortion ban] passes and becomes law, it will be part of this nonstop attack on abortion rights," she told Refinery29.
Anti-choice advocates have felt emboldened by the current administration because both President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have promised to overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision determining a woman has a right to choose an abortion. And since the new balance of the U.S. Supreme Court has been officially cemented to the right with the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Nash said we can expect even more states will try to pass anti-abortion legislation with the hopes of it bringing the legal challenge that makes abortion illegal in the United States once again.
"We are gonna see a number of states, if not passing extreme abortion bans, [at least] debating them and seriously consider them in 2019. Most of the attention has been focused on the Supreme Court and passing restrictions that are unconstitutional right now, but could provide the court with the opening to undermine or overturn Roe," Nash said. "There are multiple opportunities for the courts to weigh in. It’s a very dangerous time, if you support abortion rights."
During debate, state Rep. Ron Hood explicitly said he hopes the heartbeat bill will be used to challenge Roe. He is also the co-author of a total ban on abortion introduced this past spring. The legislation proposed to charge with murder — a crime that is punishable by the death penalty in the state — both abortion providers and women who underwent the procedure. The bill never left the Health Committee.

Black Friday shopping feels a lot like football. People line up in the cold, set up plays on how to get to the latest iPhones first, and tackle each other for the cheapest TVs. But while everyone's running around the tech aisle, you can find us on the sidelines in the beauty department because the office isn't the only place getting stocked with great gadgets come Black Friday.
This year so many smart (and effective) hot tools arrived on shelves, and over the holidays they are all on sale. Curling irons, blowdryers, and flat irons aren't necessarily the cheapest beauty tools in the bunch, so holiday discounts completely justify splurging on that new dryer you've been eyeing. After all, shopping sales is the responsible thing to do since your New Year's resolution is to save money, right?
If you're already mapping out your Black Friday/Cyber Monday plan, check out the deals ahead and add 'em to your shopping list ASAP.

We never thought we'd see the day that Ariana Grande cut her hair. In fact, we'd even apply the whole "when pigs fly" idiom to such an unlikely occurrence. Well, someone should check on Piggy Smallz because the singer just revealed a drastic new hair change on Instagram.
Sure, she's tried different colors and occasionally sported undone waves over the course of her career, but seeing Grande’s locks chopped right above her shoulders is a first. And, yes, we are shook. Ready for the photo? Keep scrolling.
As you might expect, Grande's fans are freaking out — and rightfully so — because the Thank U, Next singer without her ponytail is a rare sighting. Since coming onto the scene, Grande has hardly ever been without some type of pony (whether it's half up or in her go-to high one). Back in 2016, she told Refinery29 that her ponytail has always been a part of her life, but she “likes to switch it up from time to time.” Today's news, however, is a switch up we didn't expect.
Grande's haircut comes following the release of her fifth studio album Sweetener, calling it quits with Pete Davidson, and mourning the death of late rapper (and ex-boyfriend ) Mac Miller. She's also been teasing the release of her fifth album (fans are calling it AG5), which is rumored to be released before 2018 is up. We spoke to Josh Liu, the singer's hairstylist, who told Refinery29 that his client's new cut is "just a project we're working on."
Could this be for her new album? Is this a breakup cut? Ari, girl, we need answers! But until then, we'll just have to wait and wonder...and listen to Thank U, Next just one more time...

This story was originally published on January 16, 2018.
Full disclosure: The following story is about my pubes. Or rather, it is about shaving my pubic area, in case that makes it any less TMI (although I somehow doubt it).
Anyway, it was right around the time in middle school when people started growing body hair, during the delightful life stage known by endocrinologists as puberty, and I only knew one thing: I wanted mine gone. After nearly slicing off half my labia with my dad's safety razor in the shower, I decided it was time to seek help. So I did what any 13-year-old would do, and bypassed my mom or physician in favor of a decidedly cooler classmate who could give me some pointers during free period. For the closest shave, she whispered, use your razor in a back-and-forth motion — first in the direction of your hair growth, and then against the grain, as many times as you need to before it's all smooth. Quite the pro tip, my younger self thought. And it worked... for a time.
That was when the inevitable onslaught of tiny, red razor bumps and unsightly ingrowns soon speckled my sensitive bikini line — a result of dragging a razor across it over and over and over again. I finally switched to waxing in high school, which was infinitely more painful, yes, but also didn't make my nether regions as pink and bumpy as a plucked chicken.
But more than a decade later, Schick's latest razor launch has me reconsidering my options. The brand's newest innovation is called Intuition f.a.b., which stands for forward and backward, and it does exactly what its name implies: shaves from both directions at the same time. "The upward-facing blades enact a 'pull' stroke synonymous with traditional uni-directional shaving," Eric Kaplan, a Project Manager on the Research & Development team at Edgewell Personal Care, tells me. "The downward-facing blades shave with a 'push' stroke." So, you can get the same effect as shaving in both directions, but with just one pass of the razor this time.
I brought it into the shower with me this week, and was shocked by how effective it was. The razor felt soft and comfortable on my skin, with zero tugging, and it moved and shifted with my body's curves, so I didn't have to do my usual leg gymnastics in the shower. The result was a gentler, smoother, bump-free shave that 13-year-old me — and my misguided classmate — would have killed (or at least given up our Britney Spears concert tickets) for.

Government records show first lady Melania Trump racked up roughly $174,000 in hotel bills during her 12-hour trip to Toronto, Canada in September 2017, Quartz reports. It was the first lady's first solo trip abroad without her husband, President Donald Trump.
The purpose of the day trip was for Trump to lead the U.S. delegation to the Invictus Games, an international sporting event for wounded veterans created by Prince Harry. She did not spend the night at the hotel.
According to Quartz, it was not immediately clear how the first lady's office racked up the charges. Government records show six separate hotel bills, which costs ranged from roughly $12,000 to $49,000 for a total of about $174,000. Transportation costs for the trip came at an additional $21,000. The hotel costs for Trump's advance team were significantly less, clocking at around $18,000.
In a statement to Quartz, the first lady's communications director Stephanie Grisham declined to provide details of the expenses, because they fall under the purview of the U.S. State Department. She added: "What I can tell you is that when the President or First Lady travels, there are people who travel ahead on the advance team to ensure safety measures, medical care, communications, motorcade needs and logistics are all in place. Mrs. Trump travels with a much smaller contingent of staff than that of her predecessors, but the entities I mentioned above are legally required for all official travel."
Like her predecessor, Michelle Obama, Trump has so far traveled significantly less than other president spouses in the past. (During her husband's eight-year tenure, Obama made 22 foreign trips and spent 116 days outside of the U.S., compared to Laura Bush's 46 trips and 212 days for Bush and Hillary Clinton's 47 trips and 274 days.)
The first family's travel costs have come under scrutiny because of President Trump often railed in the past that the trips taken by the Obamas were a waste of taxpayer money. Melania Trump's trips in particular have been in the public's radar: Before she officially left Manhattan and moved to the White House, her military flights to and from Florida, New York, and Washington, D.C came at a price tag of $675,000. And during her first solo tour to Africa, her team spent $95,050 at a hotel in Cairo, Egypt, even though her stop there only lasted six hours. Trump also didn't spend the night at the hotel then.

False eyelashes, hair extensions, acrylic nails — all exciting and glamorous, but maybe not the best things to be gluing to our bodies. Nonetheless, advancements within the beauty industry mean that these products have come leaps and bounds, and within reason, we can carry on using all of the above while protecting our natural assets.
There's no denying nail art and long manicures are (still) having a moment. Fun? Yes! The only problem? They're not without their downsides: glues, buffing, chemicals that dry out your nails, and even electric drills. These things don't exactly spell out healthy nail beds now, do they? After months, and sometimes even years, of fills and extensions, your nails can be left looking and feeling damaged and weak.
We spoke to Izabelle Bellamy — who filed her way through the ranks at WAH Nails, a U.K. hub for all things nail art, and is now the resident technician at East London's Stunt Dolly salon — about how to resuscitate nails that have passed over to the other side.
Bellamy explained that "acrylic nail extensions shouldn't really damage your nails, provided the correct preparation, maintenance (every two to three weeks), aftercare, and removal procedures are followed. The real damage is caused by heavy-handed nail technicians. Be wary of over-filing and drilling, this will cause weak and peeling nails — and even painful results."
She goes on to add, "You should always visit a qualified and insured nail tech. Over time, the acrylic begins to lose adhesion to the nail and can lift; if air pockets start to be common, this should be a warning sign. Acrylics should be removed and replaced every six to 12 months, although a person's daily routine and home care plus how often they have infills does determine time, too."
Okay, so obviously those are all wise rules to follow, but Bellamy accepts we can't always chose our nail technician and, well, life sometimes just gets in the way of perfect nails. For times when things don't go as planned, here are Bellamy's top tips and products for nails that really need some TLC, post-acrylics.

On Wednesday, Ivanka celebrated the passage of the BUILD Act, aimed at investing in developing countries, and once again found herself at a table surrounded by male members of Congress. We spoke with body language expert Patti Wood, author of Snap: Making the Most of First Impressions, Body Language, and Charisma, who analyzed the part of the conversation where Ivanka talks about how the bill will contribute to global women's empowerment. (See video below.)
"Very few people are really intently listening to her, which is interesting," Wood told Refinery29. "Maybe during a couple of moments, but they're being polite. They're not leaning forward, or aiming their bodies toward her." This might suggest that they don't think she's an expert on the subject, but it could also be a sign of the formality of the situation — Wood said that you could interpret this type of response in more than one way.
"The two men next to her [Sen. Chris Coons from Delaware, a Democrat, and Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Rep. Ed Royce, a Republican from California] have their hands folded on their paperwork," Wood continued. "It's a more closed body language posture."
As for Ivanka's behavior, Wood noted that from a media-coaching point of view, she could be speaking with a lot more confidence, especially given that women's economic empowerment is one of her chief subjects.
