Can this man do no wrong? Apparently not. Or at least, that's how it feels at the moment. Last week, Jonathan Saunders was praised for the menswear collection that he unveiled in London before being feted with a special dinner thrown by Selfridges. And now this. The Scottish prince of prints just unveiled his pre-fall '13 collection — and the results are predictably covetable, with bold, graphic, laser-cut orchids and brush strokes borrowed from Francis Bacon.
For pre-fall '13, silhouettes are less femme, with boxier tops borrowed from ideas explored in Saunders' menswear. The man is a dab hand when it comes to using odd-but-awesome colour combinations, and this time around, piercing cobalt blue, ochre, oxblood, and dusky pink get the Saunders treatment. Oh, and he makes peep-toe mules feel like the only pair of shoes we need to own right now.
