Back in the day, "model off-duty" style meant black moto jacket, skinny jeans, plus leather booties, preferably of the Alexander Wang variety. As with most trends, this formula has shifted and evolved over the seasons. Some runway regulars have swapped ankle-grazing footwear for over-the-knee boots. Many, many more decided to forego denim all together, instead embracing the athleisure trend full-stop via leggings and sports bras-as-tops.
Nowadays, Kendall Jenner and the Hadid sisters are some of the most frequently-photographed working models in the biz — so, naturally, their off-duty outfits are some of the most visible (and trend-setting). We can pretty much expect a particular #OOTD to start cropping everywhere as soon as it's spotted on one of them. Well, take note, fashion friends: This trio has landed on the winter '17 version of "model off-duty," and we're happy to report it's probably the coziest version yet.
Over the weekend, Jenner and both Hadids were spotted out in New York wearing different variations of what's essentially the same outfit: a shiny puffer jacket, high-waisted bottoms, and a crop top. It may not be Fashion Week, but we think we just may have a new model-off-duty outfit on our hands. See how they interpreted the formula, ahead.
Kendall Jenner went for athleisure-inspired, rather than full-blown, "I could be going to the gym later, but who knows" look with a sporty, golden Ports 1961 puffer, RtA leather pants, and a Re/Done cropped T-shirt. She maintains the touch of luxe that's come to characterize "model off duty" dressing (and that differentiates it from literal going-to-the-gym wear) with her accessories: a Chanel scarf and '90s-inspired Krewe sunglasses.

Gigi Hadid described her go-to athleisure outfit to Refinery29 as "always high-waisted leggings... a sports bra and then a cool jacket." The proof is in her street-style record: When it comes to her off-the-clock dressing, the model falls back on this formula as a way to look put-together (and ready for a spontaneous boxing class) at all times. Here, Hadid pulled this off by mixing all-Reebok-everything with a touch of Mansur Gavriel.

... And Gigi may have passed this trick on to her sister, Bella. The 20-year-old model was spotted alongside her sister in the same outfit breakdown (except with a Versace bralette as a top). Bella also appears to have borrowed her Tommy Hilfiger puffer jacket from Gigi's closet — and, hey, we don't blame her.
