We're not ashamed to say that right before bed (and sometimes first thing in the morning!) we refresh Instagram for a colorful chronicle of the day's events. And, between the jet setters and foodies, our feed provides us with enough editorial-worthy filters to put our stack of glossies to shame. It's pretty well known that the app is a hub for humble brags, which explains the influx of far-away-place and swanky-dish pics. But, we have to admit, when Insta unveiled its list of the most popular photo locations, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that followers were quite eager to see what Angelenos were up to.
After adding up "likes" and comments, the social-media app unveiled that SoCal locales are the setting for half of the most popular snaps of 2012 — from Dodger Stadium to the Happiest Place on Earth (a.k.a. Disneyland), L.A. reps hard in this year's lineup of the 10 most-Instagrammed venues of the year. While the courtside view at the Staples Center and the Santa Monica Pier are pretty likable, we didn't expect LAX to make an appearance on the list (it ranked Number 6). However, we know how tough it is to pass time while waiting for a delayed flight, so we guess the statistic is somewhat justified. Peep the complete list at the link. (LA Weekly)
