Is it just us, or has the gloomy weather already got you dreaming about springtime florals and seaside getaways? All we know is that ever since we got our hands on Margaret O’Leary’s spring ‘13 lookbook, drizzle or no drizzle, we’ve had luscious, citrus-hued knits and spring vacays on the mind!
O’Leary has held our longtime stamp of approval as this city’s reigning knit-maker guru, and so we were hardly surprised when the latest snaps had us itching to ditch our winter threads for one of her vibrant, cropped cuts!
“[It] showcases my excitement for the change of season with bright, citrus colors, pattern-play, and crocheted details. My inspirations ranged from ‘50s interior design to Ladurée macaroons and ancient stone carvings,” the designer says. And we can’t argue with macaroons!
Can’t you just picture yourself noshing on some dainty Ladurée treats on the banks of The Seine, sporting one of O’Leary’s playful crocheted tops? Okay, so munching on a Tartine croissant on a bench in Dolores Park might be a tad more realistic. But, speaking of indulgences, the kind folks at Margaret O’Leary are offering R29 readers a chance to win an item from the lookbook. Just tell us what your all-time favorite spring activity is and like Margaret O’Leary on Facebook, and we will pick the winner at random.
Also, if after all of these goodies, you’re still fiending for more — swing by the designer’s Fillmore Street boutique tomorrow from 1 to 4 p.m. and meet the creative lady in person. Oh, there will also be champers and cupcakes!
