You may still be recovering from the two-day music binge that was Treasure Island Music Festival (we know we are), but it’s time to get off the couch and grab your dancing shoes and keep this party going strong, because October is stacked with an awesome lineup of artists coming to the Bay Area.
Running the gamut from folk icons Bob Dylan and Neil Young to electro-superstars Major Lazer and Afrojack, with some awesome indie acts in between, there’s definitely something to satisfy everyone’s musical craving.

Freelance Whales and Geographer
Indie-pop outfit Freelance Whales has just kicked off its North American tour in support of its latest release, Diluvia, a space-themed concept album that takes listeners on a synth-propelled journey through the stars. And while we’re looking forward to the main attraction, we’re equally as excited to see local favorite Geographer featured as the opening act.

Major Lazer
Major Lazer, the side project of musical wunderkind Diplo, is known for its heavy-hitting beats infused with a serious dose of reggaeton. Its shows are always a non-stop party, and with a host of new material from the band's forthcoming album Free the Universe on deck, we have no doubt that this will be one epic performance.

Peaches
Electronic music’s favorite bad girl, Peaches, is swinging into San Francisco this Friday for an evening at 1015 Folsom. She recently released her first new track in three years — "Burst!" — a grungy electro/pop number produced by techno-favorite Boys Noize. And at a venue this intimate, you’re sure to learn a thing or two from the infamous teaches of Peaches.

2012 Bridge School Benefit
The annual Bridge School Benefit, organized by rock icon Neil Young, always boasts a stellar line-up of artists, but it’s really outdone itself this year. The two-day benefit will feature sets from major bands including Jack White, The Flaming Lips, and Foster the People, as well as one of our favorite newbies, Gary Clark Jr., and Mr. Young himself. And, just in case you’re not convinced, all proceeds go to the Bridge School’s programs dedicated to helping children in need.

Crystal Castles
No one has mastered controlled cacophony quite like Crystal Castles. Known for its experimental sound and chaotic live shows, the group puts on a show unlike any other — a complete assault on the senses that will leave you wanting more.
