This week, our iCals are filled to the brim with events and happenings with the sole purpose of inspiring. Whether we're partaking in performance art with Miranda July or viewing gorgeous snaps from local photogs Angela and Ithyle, we're in an arty mood these days. And, it won't hurt that we're hitting up Gabriela Artigas' sample sale (where the jewels are like miniature sculptures!), and the Vintage Expo to add to our museum-worthy collection of gorgeous and unique finds. Time to get creative!

Fill Up On Brew While Taking In Local Art
As if we needed an excuse to hit up Mohawk Bend — the Eastside establishment boasts an insane amount of beers on tap, delicious grub, and an intimate outdoor space right on Sunset. Starting tonight, the late-night hangout will do double-duty as an art gallery, displaying works from L.A.'s Angela + Ithyle. The artistic duo has done it all (Amazon ads, for example), and we're stoked to see their photo series, Melany, focused on beauty and youth. We just wonder how our photo booth pics will stack up!
When: Tuesday, October 16 through Wednesday, December 5
Where: Mohawk Bend, 2141 West Sunset Boulevard (near Mohawk Street); 213-483-2337.

Give Your Jewelry Box An Upgrade
Whenever we're in a gift-giving bind, we always hit up Gabriela Artigas for a statement stunner. The L.A.-based jewelry designer has been featured in top fashion mags such as Nylon, Elle, and Lucky, so you bet we're visiting her sample sale and trunk show this Thursday! Come for the deeply discounted baubles, stay for the white wine sangria and lavender champagne, courtesy of House on Genesee. Just don't forget to RSVP!
When: Thursday, October 18, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Taylor De Cordoba, 2660 South La Cienega Boulevard (between Cullen and Alvira streets); 310-559-9156.
RSVP: Here.

We're Buying Whatever Miranda July's Selling!
Since Me and You and Everyone We Know made the rounds in 2005, we've been hooked on July's insane talent. The curly haired gal has ventured into performance art, and will bring her latest work to UCLA on Thursday night. Shy folks take note: The event calls for audience participation (she'll auction off a personal item from someone in the crowd!), so any of those with stage fright or a severe case of materialism should bow out.
When: Thursday, October 18, 8 p.m.
Where: Freud Playhouse, 405 Hilgard Avenue (at Portola Plaza); 310-825-2101.

Vintage Junkies, It's Time To Get Your Fix
If last week's A Current Affair Vintage Pop-Up didn't get your thrifting juices flowing, then this weekend's expo will certainly do the trick! With over 85 dealers, you're bound to find something to satiate that hunger for one-of-a-kind garb. Whether you're on the hunt for designer duds, or couldn't give a hoot about the label, we suggest you set your alarm, stat!
When: Saturday, October 20, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, October 21, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, 1855 Main Street (near Pico Boulevard); no phone.

The Magical Mystery Tour Makes Its Way To L.A.
Obviously, the original John, Ringo, Paul, and George won't be hitting the Orpheum Theatre stage, but this cover band sure sounds a lot like them! The group will play the iconic Magical Mystery Tour album in its entirety, along with other fan favorites. Singing along to "All You Need Is Love" and "Penny Lane"? We can't think of cooler Saturday night plans!
When: Saturday, October 20, 8 p.m.
Where: The Orpheum Theatre, 842 South Broadway (between West 8th and West 9th streets); 619-549-8666.
